Here are some good questions that I have been asked about Clementine..and my answers to them. :)
Question: Is her color a true fawn? Answer:Yes she is true fawn, all the puppies in the litter are clear true fawn coloration with little to no dark guard hairs throughout the body. She appears to be single coated instead of a double coated fawn. Question: How does her size compare to other females of her age? Answer:With a big litter of puppies (8 in all) the puppies are usually smaller in size when born,so she was not that much smaller than her litter mates, and right on track when she had her last vet check at 8 weeks old.(she is 10 wks old ) and I am happy with her weight and development at this point. I consider her to be more on the petite side, and expect her to reach 13 to 14lbs. at maturity. Question:Why was she "pick of the litter" but is now being sold as pet quality? Answer:When we breed, we breed for improvement of the breed only, striving for specific qualities to carry down a line..I look for strong qualities and a certain conformation for breeding ,and will not compromise on that..In my opinion all puppies in this litter were adorable, but pet quality ONLY.Had there been one I thought had what it took to carry down the line I would have chossen it and kept it for myself,or encouraged the dam owner to do so. In my oppinion Clementine has the most symetrical shape face ears and eye set,and nose wrinkle in the litter but lacked the substance bone and type in her conformation for breeding. Her sisters had the bone but lacked conformational refinement in the face that I look for in a breeding line. So this is why she is available to a pet home only. My standards are very high when it comes to breeding, but that does not make her any less of an adorable and loving companion.:) She is also litter box trained and has never had an accident out side of the litter box.So I would encourage her new family to continue using a littler box with her. |
